Presentation topic: Enterprise Projects Performance: Going Beyond Project Controls
Project controls is a vital part of successful project delivery. Following best practices to accurately measure and forecast a project’s performance is key to helping to drive success: on-time and on-budget delivery. And yet, project controls is just not enough.
Despite best efforts, we all constantly hear tales of wild cost and schedule overruns. Often, we see a disconnect between strategic decision making and actual project execution. Too narrow a perspective on projects introduces significant risk to the system. The challenge then is to broaden the perspective.
In this session, we introduce an expanded vision for the lifecycle of projects, Enterprise Projects Performance, which looks strategically across an organization — spanning multiple programs, portfolios, or divisions — with a mission to maximize returns and profits.
Attendees of this session will:
- Gain a working definition of enterprise projects performance
- Discuss the necessary interaction between portfolio management, project controls, and contract management
- Learn how technology solutions are (1) creating the visibility to drive enterprise projects performance and (2) enabling greater agility in response to changing conditions
- Discover tools to eliminate siloes that force strategic decisions to be isolated from real-time project data
