Liquefaction plant construction project to implement enterprise performance management software solution
EcoSys, provider of best-in-class enterprise planning and cost controls software, today announced that its web-based project controls solution, EcoSys EPC (Enterprise Planning & Controls) has been selected by Freeport LNG Expansion, L.P. (Freeport LNG). EcoSys EPC provides Freeport LNG with a software solution to seamlessly manage and assist with project cost and contract management for the planning and construction of its liquefaction plant to be used in exporting natural gas.
Freeport LNG will begin construction in 2014 on a U.S. $11 billion natural gas export facility in Texas. The plant will have capacity to ship approximately 2.1 billion cubic feet of gas per day as liquefied natural gas (LNG). Freeport LNG required software that would give program managers and project controllers full visibility into the megaproject’s cost and schedule performance, allowing them to report on and address any warning signs or overruns early. EcoSys EPC gives Freeport LNG this level of visibility, which will dramatically improve project performance for the multi-year life of the project.
Javier Sloninsky, Managing Director and CEO at EcoSys, commented, “We’re looking forward to helping Freeport LNG successfully execute this significant project. Our software is specifically designed to manage the complexity of megaprojects and to provide visibility into their costs and performance. With EcoSys EPC, Freeport LNG gains the ability to identify cost trends early, and proactively change course to improve the project outcome.”
EcoSys EPC provides Freeport LNG with a single system to support budgeting, change management, commitments tracking and contract management, reconciliation of actuals, performance measurement and forecasting. Additionally, EcoSys EPC facilitates time-phasing of costs over the lifespan of the project.
