EPC to provide automated reporting and increased project visibility

EcoSys, provider of best-in-class enterprise planning and cost controls software, today announced that its web-based project cost management solution, EcoSys EPC (Enterprise Planning & Controls), has been implemented by Noble Energy, Inc., a leading independent energy company engaged in worldwide oil and gas exploration and production. Following an independent assessment by project management consultants, EcoSys EPC was determined to be the best cost controls solution for Noble Energy given its combination of in-depth project cost management capabilities and flexible configuration.

Noble Energy is currently using EcoSys EPC to manage project costs for the multi-billion dollar development of two offshore natural gas fields. By integrating with existing systems, EcoSys EPC provides automated reporting to improve data integrity and cost analyst efficiency as labor is shifted from compiling reports to high-value activities, such as analysis and forecasting.

EcoSys EPC allows project controllers to manage budgets, commitments, changes, forecasts, variances, earned value and facilitates time-phasing of costs over the life span of the project. In addition, EcoSys EPC integrates with Noble Energy’s installation of Oracle E-Business Suite to obtain actual cost expenditure data for reporting.

Javier Sloninsky, CEO at EcoSys, commented, “With over a decade of experience working with the oil and gas industry, we have incorporated established standards into our product. Accuracy of reporting is crucial to project management, as is the comfort level of the manager using the software solution. EcoSys EPC was designed with these thoughts in mind to meet the needs of project cost managers so they can create accurate reports in a timely manner.”

EcoSys EPC is a web-based solution designed to provide visibility into project cost and performance. EcoSys EPC delivers best practices for project cost management, portfolio management, capital planning, budgeting and forecasting, funds management, resource management, estimating, and earned value management.
